Miller & Associates (TPMA), whose mission is to enhance the economic value of educational institutions, companies and communities by aligning people, technology and initiatives. TPMA provides the strategic research and planning to help regions, communities and organizations achieve a competitive niche. Some of the programs Stuart worked on include Higher Educational Development Feasibility Analysis and Methane Waste Recovery Feasibility Analysis. |

Gunnar Crowell '07 Major: Sociology Gunnar interned with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) with their accreditation process through Commissions for Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). His project focused on identifying how ILEA's training and instruction conforms with CALEA.Gunnar assisted in developing a Strategic Planning Initiative for the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy to be implemented in the future. |

Pamela Farmer '07 Major: Geology Pam interned with the Southeast Indiana Regional Planning Commission in Versailles, IN. Pam's project focused on updating the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the region including the counties of Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Ohio, Jennings, Switzerland, and Jefferson. Pam also worked on an emergency response and hazard mitigation plan for future geologic events, such as floods. She also prepared CEDS data for publication. |

Giles Garrison '07 Major: Communication Giles interned with Fox News in Tampa, Florida. His project focused on preparing highlight tapes covering the local sports franchises. He also created a feature on kayaking. In addition, Giles, implemented a filing system for the station to track past footage of games and sports related news stories. |

Tim Hesting '07 Major: Sociology Tim interned with Harrell Financial Services, Inc. Harrell Financial is involved in offering insurance, investments and financing. They are expanding their market to Bluffton and Tim assisted in a competitive market analysis and development of marketing efforts to grow the finance and investment business. Tim also developed relationships with local realtors to provide education on financing options for home buyers. |

Angela Latimer '07 Major: Economics Angela interned with Madison-Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation (MIDCOR). MIDCOR is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate retention/expansion of existing industries and to attract new, complimentary industries to Jefferson County, Indiana. Angela created a benchmarking analysis of Jefferson and surrounding counties, expanded a cost of living index, developed a system to update the cost of living index quarterly, and conducted an inventory of available space for businesses in Historic Downtown Madison. She presented her findings at the local Economic Summit with Lt. Governor, Becky Skillman and Madison Mayor, Al Huntington in attendance. |

David Meehan '07 Major: Political Science David interned in Mike Sodrel's Washington D.C. office. Congressman Sodrel was the Indiana 9th District Representative. By assisting the Congressman's district staff, David gained first hand knowledge about how a Congressional office provides constituent services and interacts with the community. David had the opportunity to learn about the legislative process and federal government by researching related legislation and working closely with communication and constituent services staff members. |

Kenny Miller '07 Major: Sociology Kenny interned with SMG in Evansville, Indiana. SMG is the industry leader in private facility management. A joint venture between The Hyatt Hotel Company and ARAMARK Corporation, SMG manages convention centers, exhibition halls and trade centers, arenas, stadiums, performing arts centers, theaters, and specific-use venues such as equestrian centers. Kenny played a critical role in the marketing and management of SMG-sponsored events in the Evansville area. His responsibilities included managing SMG's attendee database, coordinating event promotions with advertisers and local media outlets, organizing vendor permits, and day-to-day event support. He also established a database for future conferencing recruitment. |

Sarah Morrison '07 Major: Spanish Sarah interned with Fifth/Third Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sarah's project focused on evaluating the Hispanic population and demographic trends in Hamilton County, Ohio. Her contribution to Fifth/Third involved analyzing and providing recommendations for improving customer service and outreach to the Hispanic community through The Mystery Shopper Program. She also created a Mystery Shopper training program and database. |

Emily Ouellette '07 Major: Political Science Emily interned with Indiana's Department of Intergovernmental Affairs in Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels' Office. Emily's project focused on organizing and implementing a constituency database system based on demographics and included statistics on county unemployment rate, population and economic status along with evaluating the quality and effectiveness of the data maintained. She also assisted in the planning of many events. |

This award winning organization incorporates a collaborative building process that includes everything from pre-construction to warranties. Tyler's project focused on developing market research to assist Sheil Sexton in evaluating opportunities for growth in the higher education market in the state of Ohio. |

David Snell '07 Major: Chemistry David interned at Madison Chemical. He worked with their ISO 9000 and 14000 quality audits and developed a training program for new employees and groups of Hanover student auditors. In addition to David's ISO project he also developed a paperless version of the ISO procedures for Madison Chemical. The work that David did with the ISO audits will save Madison Chemical $25,000 annually. |

Ashley Ubelhor '07 Major: Psychology Ashley interned with Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. St. Mary's is a healthcare system encompassing numerous health facilities throughout the Tri-State area. As one of Southern Indiana's largest employers, St. Mary's Hospital is active in their community. Ashley worked with the Center for Children which provides one location for multidisciplinary collection of services for children with chronic illnesses and developmental disorders. Ashley worked to expand their database to improve access to medical resources, identified tri-state organizations to improve services and enable families to receive assistance and increased partnerships with area agencies to collaborate on efforts to improve health care services for children and their families. |

Ayush Vats '07 Major: Philosophy and Communications Ayush interned with the Madison Area Convention and Visitors Bureau located in Madison, IN. Downtown Madison recently received designation from the U.S. Secretary of Interior as National Historic Landmark. With over 1,520 nineteenth century structures (133 blocks listed on the National Register of Historic Places) Madison is Indiana's largest historic district. Ayush assisted the Madison Area Convention & Visitors Bureau in pursuing grant opportunities, applying for a National Historic marker for Eleutherian College as well as conducting a conversion analysis evaluating the effectiveness of marketing materials. He also had the opportunity to be involved in the marketing, administration and finances of the Madison Regatta and Ribberfest. |

Karana Vierra '07 Major: Art History Karana interned with BABYPRO, which believes a child's interest in sports and active play should be cultivated from infancy. BABYPRO develops a line of videos and music CDs that engages children in athletic and exercise activities. Karana researched and acquired pieces of art showcasing athletics throughout history. After all copyrights and artist rights for the art work were secured, Karana initialized communications with possible publishers for the new line of books to go along with the videos. |

Ashley Wells '07 Major: Economics Ashley interned with the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since 1830, IHS has been Indiana's storyteller by collecting, preserving, interpreting and disseminating Indiana history. This nonprofit organization also publishes books and periodicals; sponsors teacher workshops; provides youth, adult and family programming; assists local historical groups throughout the state; and maintains one of the largest collections of material on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest. Ashley worked directly with IHS's executive team to coordinate and manage several large events and support the development of an event planning best practices program. She also created a customer survey and collected and documented all results for the IHS to use to better serve their patrons. |

Jacquelyn Wesseler '07 Major: Psychology Jacquelyn interned at Brooke's Place for Grieving Young People. Brooke's Place is a non-profit organization that provides peer support groups for young people (aged 3-20+) who have experienced the death of a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, sibling, friend or loved one. As a Psychology major, Jacquelyn was able to use her background to assist the organization and provide a much needed service to the community. She worked as a program and volunteer coordinator while also researching the operation of Brooke's Place with other similar grief centers. |

Laura Zimmerman '07 Major: Political Science Laura interned with the Timmy Foundation (Timmy) a non-profit organization based out of Indianapolis. Timmy builds healthy futures worldwide, one child at a time. To accomplish this, Timmy strengthens community-based health and education initiatives and empowers young people to share their energy and compassion. Laura was able to develop Timmy's high school service trip initiatives and had the opportunity to travel with one of the groups to Quito, Ecuador. Laura also gained experience in grant writing by preparing three grant proposals for the foundation. |
