Internship Process
Sophomore Year:
- Think about what career you want to try out in your internship
- Talk with your major and/or Business Scholars Program faculty advisors to discuss scheduling required coursework
- Work with a Career Center Peer Mentor to create a professional resume while enrolled in BSP 211 Management Concepts
Junior Year:
Fall term
- RSVP and attend the Internship Kick-off Meeting
- Submit the Internship Interest Survey_Class of 2020
- Make an individual appointment with Jenny Moss, Director of Internships, via Handshake
- Work with the Director of Internships to identify prospects, update your resume, and submit applications to positions
- Prepare for the mock interview workshop
Winter Term
- Research internships and apply for positions of interest
- Schedule interviews and write "thank you" cards/emails within 48 hours of being interviewed
- If needed, schedule a follow-up appointment with the Director of Internships, Jenny Moss, to further discuss internship opportunities
- Attend the Internship Research Class
Spring Term
- Attend the Pre-Internship Critiqued Presentation
- Complete the Internship Research Plan and Learning Plan
- Complete the Internship Contract (due on the last Wednesday of Spring term)
Summer
- Accomplish the goals of the Learning Plan
- Complete weekly online journals via Moodle and collect information for your final project/presentation
- Update your resume at the end of the summer to stay relevant
- Make a good impression and enjoy your experience!
- Complete and submit your final Learning Plan Assessment
- Complete your Internship Web Description for the BSP website
- Complete your final project/presentation (details are yet TBD)
