Technical knowledge and theory are foundational for our graduates--but when it comes to career preparedness, there is no substitute for real-world practice. So that's what we provide.
Skill-Building Opportunities
Over the course of their college career, Business Scholars attend a minimum of eight workshops on such topics as Business Etiquette, Teaming Skills, Personal Finance, and Creative Brainstorming. Facilitated by BSP faculty and guest speakers, these workshops expose Scholars to the practical aspects of post-college life and let them hone their skills in a safe, low-risk environment.
Scholars also get the benefit of one-on-one counseling in resume development and interviewing. Working with business recruitment professionals and Hanover graduates in a range of industries, Scholars graduate with a well-crafted, expert-reviewed resume and tested interviewing skills.
Connections Beyond the Classroom
Since its inception, the BSP has maintained strong ties with its alumni Scholars--many of whom have attained executive-level positions in various organizations. The program leverages these valuable relationships to support and launch our next generation of successful graduates. Former Scholars engage with current Scholars in many ways, from serving as guest speakers at workshops and events to one-on-one meetings and consultations.
In addition, each BSP course incorporates top business and not-for-profit executives that tie course concepts to real-world practice. Scholars have the opportunity to interact directly with those executives--either in group settings or individually--to discuss their career interests and become comfortable dealing with those in charge.
